Beliefs

God

There is one God that eternally exists as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God and three coeternal and coequal Persons. Christians have traditionally used the word trinity to describe the nature of God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

Humanity

The human race was created, male and female, in the image of God, and is the crown of the creation of God. The chief purpose of all creation, particularly the human race, is to bring glory to God. Enjoying a life of worship to God is hindered by the sin present in our lives. (Genesis 1:26-31; Psalm 16:11; Romans 3:23, 6:23; 1 Corinthians 10:31)

Sin is present in the nature of the entire human race since Adam and Eve’s failure in the Garden of Eden. This sin is rebellion against the rightful worship of the Holy Creator God. (Genesis 3; Leviticus 19:1-4; Psalm 14; Romans 3:23)

Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on the cross, and whose life was raised from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus Christ is the only source of salvation. (John 1:12, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; Colossians 1:19-20; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

Scripture

The Bible, being the Old and New Testament, is the Word of God. As God’s words, it is the final authority, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed. It is relevant for all people and for all time. (Matthew 5:17, 18; John 16:12, 13; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21, 3:15-16)

Gender and Marriage

Both men and women bear the image of God and are equally valuable in the sight of God. God designed men and women with distinct features and biological differences that glorify Him and make for human flourishing. God instituted the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, for a lifetime. Marriage is a sacred sign that points to the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Bride, the Church. Any sexual lust or act outside of the covenant relationship between a husband and wife is sin and violates God’s good design for humanity. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:18, 2:24-25, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:22-33, 1 Corinthians 6:15-20, Romans 1:26-27)
